Pastor Louis S. Leigh, Sr. accepted God’s sacred call to ministry at the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, NC on February 5, 1983. God ordered the steps of His servant to accept the call as Senior Pastor of the Crystal Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Halifax, Virginia as he was installed as Pastor on November 26, 1986. It was there that God launched what is now revered as a 30 plus year ministry of continually striving for spiritual maturity and stewardship as committed citizens with the sole purpose of Kingdom Building for Jesus Christ. Crystal Hill Missionary Baptist Church has faithfully followed Pastor Leigh’s vision of mentoring a church family that truly loves the joy of knowing Christ, experiencing the blessings of trusting His Holy word, and sincerely caring for one another as a true body in Christ Jesus.

 

In 1970, Pastor Leigh married Ms. Ruby Ballou Leigh and together they have two daughters, Pam and Annitra and one son; Pastor Louis Leigh, Jr. Pastor Leigh’s greatest joy of ministry is the blessed opportunity and responsibility that God placed upon he and his lovely wife Ruby to enjoy the rewarding task of raising a family with children committed to following their call to serve God with a sincere heart and enjoy the blessed benefit of serving people under the leadership of the Holy Spirit with kindness and compassion. Educationally, Pastor Leigh holds a Bachelor of Arts of Religion, Masters of Divinity, both earned from Virginia University of Lynchburg and was celebrated with an honorary Doctorate of Divinity in 2002 for his twenty years of distinguished and exemplary service in Christian Ministry. Pastor Leigh is also blessed and humbled as a Vietnam War Veteran having served in the United States Navy from 1964-1968.

 

After 31 years of service as Crystal Hill, Pastor Leigh’s message and lifestyle have remained consistent. He is passionate about caring for others and still finds true joy in lifting the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Proverbs 18:16 encourages Christians to continually sharpen one’s gifts as the scripture states “a man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men”. Pastor Leigh continually prays that God will order his steps and utilize his gifts to bless the greatest men and women of all, God’s precious children.
